Do you remember that scene in Indiana Jones where Indy says, “It belongs in a Museum!”

Well, what happens when art is donated to a museum but the museum refuses to showcase it?

Satoshi Mundi aims to fix that.

Satoshi Mundi was excited to see the explosion of interest in Art that non-fungible tokens brought to the world in early 2021.

However, it soon became clear that what rose to prominence wasn’t art; it was artifice. Nearly everything we came across that garnered any popular interest was a recycled concept with copy paste methodologies. We soon began to resent the 10,000 profile pic projects with 10,000 variants, and were shattered to find that some of the most interesting digital Art available fell through the cracks; un-championed in the fashion the Art deserved and not finding a new happy home in someone’s blockchain wallet.

But its not like the legacy Art system is any better, it is equally broken.

This is sadly by design. The desire for exclusivity, the arms race of collection value, the ability for companies to avoid taxation by buying art as a business expense, using art to launder money, the paying off of appraisers, the value by association problem, etc. means that Art is either priced out of everyone’s reach or sold much lower than it is worth; remanding great new works and their creators unable to support themselves.

Now the disease has spread through the World’s vaunted institutions as well. Museums treat Art like a calling card. The name of the artist being featured has become more important than the art itself. Art is about how it makes you feel, what it inspires in the viewer, not who’s name is at the bottom. What’s worse is that there are thousands of schools and public institutions worldwide with bare walls. There is a veritable treasure trove of Art is just sitting in climate controlled vaults collecting dust. Not because the art isn’t worth an audience but because they chose to do so. This is not in the spirit of what we got in to this business to do. Art is to be experienced, not hidden away.

The Invisible Fish NFT Project and the Metaverse Museum of Digital Fine Art fixes this.

By putting this Art on the blockchain, Satoshi Mundi hopes to inspire a new generation of Artists and breathe new life into these beautiful artifacts while sharing them with the world.
